Last week I wrote about the first 6th congressional district campaign literature I received from Maureen Reed. Only days later I received my first piece of literature from Tarryl Clark but have been too busy to get it up. So, without further adieu…
The crux of the mailer is concerned with explaining why Clark is the most qualified and best candidate to take of Michele Bachmann in 2010. However, it also has several clear shots at Bachmann including a continued theme of questioning who the representative actually works for: “We need leadership that creates jobs and opportunity, not headaches and headlines“.
From military roots to shout outs to education accomplishments, church accomplishments, and other community volunteerism Clark highlights all those things which have made her a long time leader in the St. Cloud area and beyond.
Rather than run on a platform of not having a record, Clark proudly touts her record as a legislator working across party lines as one of the reasons she will defeat Bachmann.
The final shot is directed squarely at Reed:
“Send a principled DFL leader to Congress”
As with the Reed piece, I will leave it up to others to continue handicapping this race. While I witnessed a delegate beat down here in SD 15 for Clark that was probably to be expected. How about other parts of the district? Who is up? Who is down? Who wins the first round of this campaign literature battle?
